Hertfordshire has a large number of nursery schools, giving parents plenty of choice of location, costs, opening hours and requirements for special needs.

Nursery schools normally cater for children aged between 3 to 5 years old, though many nursery schools in Hertfordshire accept children younger than 3.

The location of nursery schools in Hertfordshire ranges from village halls to purpose-built schools which may or may not be attached to a primary school.

Funded places at nursery schools are sometimes available. You will also find schools that cater for children with special needs or for whom English is an additional language.
