It is the premier site in Watford’s parks for organised sports. Woodside is the home of a superb range of sports facilities including an eight lane synthetic track and stadium, an indoor bowls green, cricket squares, football pitches and Watford WOODSIDE Leisure Centre.
There are also two children’s play areas for all the community to enjoy.
The playing fields are surrounded by wide, open grassland, ornamental areas and mature trees, with daffodils, crocus and bluebells providing colour in the spring. Albans Wood Local Nature Reserve (LNR), a semi-natural woodland notable for its mature beech and bluebells, is located on the western edge of the playing fields.
Woodside Playing Fields are easy to find. Junctions 6 on the M1 and 21A on the M25 are both nearby, and there is ample car parking space on site. Bus routes 344, W4 and 348 all stop close to the main entrance in Horseshoe Lane. | |
