A museum of elementary education set in a unique group of school buildings comprising that include the only surviving monitorial schoolroom (1837) built for 300 boys – taught by ONE MASTER.
There are the Gallery classroom (1853) and Infants’ and Girls’ Schools and the Headmaster’s House from 1857. The Edwardian (1905) classrooms complete the site.
The Discovery Trail has hands-on activities for children.
Guided tours operate at regular intervals.
