Everyone's ERWINer with new website for businesses...

Businesses will have easier access to clearer and more useful advice via Hertfordshire County Councils website, thanks to a new initiative.

There will be a link from the Hertfordshire Trading Standards section of www.hertsdirect.org, to an innovative website called ERWIN (Everything Regulation, Whenever It's Needed).

ERWIN will save traders in Hertfordshire time and effort by providing targeted, practical and free advice for a whole range of businesses on the regulations and legislation to which they need to comply.

In just a couple of steps online, firms can find the information and advice relevant to them which is categorised into priority ratings of red (high) and amber (normal) with the most vital legislation at the top of the list.

Keith Emsall, Executive Member for Community Safety, said: "The message from businesses was clear - they wanted simple, prioritised and consistent advice, available when they really need it. We are pleased that we can deliver this 24 hours a day, seven days a week through ERWIN.

"This is not intended to be a replacement for face-to-face contact, which our trading standards department will continue to provide to businesses on complex matters."

ERWIN is a website developed by the East of England Trading Standards Authority and funded by the Department for Business, Skills and Innovation. It can be accessed directly at www.everythingregulation.org.uk
