Designing the Future at the University of Hertfordshire(10th October 2007)
A conference to be held at the University of Hertfordshire later this month will explore policy making and professional development in education in the UK.
Speakers will make connections between national UK social policy, global policy and continued professional development needs for those working in the sector.
Education, Policy and CPD, which will be hosted by the School of Education on 16 October 2007 is the first in a series of planned high profile annual conferences. Delegates will listen to key figures from the wider education sector. The conference has invited three keynote speakers: Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce) and formerly Chief Advisor to Downing Street; Sir Alan Steer, Chairman of the Government’s Leadership Group on Behaviour and Discipline and now Michael Buchanon, Education Director, Partnerships for Schools.
The conference, which will run from 12.30pm-5pm on Tuesday 16 October at the University’s Fielder Centre, will welcome delegates from Local Authorities, Higher Education Institutions, Non-Governmental Organisations and schools.
