NHC – A Revolution in Fashion Design!
(12th December 2007)
North Hertfordshire College Fashion and Textile learners will once again see their designs modelled by professional catwalk models, when they take part in the Clothes Show Live 2007 at Birmingham’s NEC currently on until 12th December.
North Hertfordshire College is one of very few FE institutions to take part in the Clothes Show, which features work by students from the UK’s top degree courses as well as the country’s leading designers. The year 2 National Diploma Design learners who have made the garments will be supported by Media Make- up learners doing the make up whilst 3D Design learners have designed their stand at the event.
The Clothes Show Live is the world's largest and most entertaining fashion and beauty event. It showcases a wide range of top fashion and beauty brands.
Only the best companies showcase everything from fashion, accessories and vintage collections to lingerie and high street brands. The learner’s clothes will be modelled alongside the latest designer and high street collections.
The learners, who were inspired by a range of influences including the Napoleonic uniforms to Jane Austen heroines studied the period 1789 to 1830 – the Age of Revolutions, designed outfits based on the revolution theme with a contemporary twist. Pieces included sweeping classical lines and flowing locks with red, white and blue running through the creations.
