Haileybury wins International Safety Award...
(23rd April 2008)
Haileybury, an independent, co-educational school in Hertfordshire, has won an International Safety Award, marking the second year in a row that the school has been honoured in this way by the British Safety Council.
Haileybury is the only school to be presented with such an award for 2007.
The International Safety Awards scheme is devised to recognise and reward organisations that show a commitment to improving corporate health and safety.
Domestic Bursar at Haileybury, Peter Bailey, explains that applicants had to provide judges with information such as key documents relating to health and safety, demonstrate board level commitment to health and safety, and give details of significant health and safety advances during the qualifying year.
"The award is acknowledged by the Health and Safety Executive as a powerful motivator for achieving high safety standards, and enabling winning organisations to gain a range of benefits staff pride in achieving international recognition for their efforts," he says.
The awards banquet will take place on 16 May at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
