Hemel Hempstead (Archive Photographs 1 & 2)

This excellent collection of over 400 old photographs of Hemel Hempstead was originally published as two volumes in the popular Archive Photographs Series and is now available bound as a single volume. The fascinating sequence of photographs forms an important pictorial record of the town's streets, buildings and people as they experienced the changes of more than eighty years, from the nineteenth century to the late 1960s. Local historian Eve Davis accumulated this large collection of images of Hemel Hempstead from a variety of private and public archives and is particularly grateful to the large number of local individuals who gave assistance with the search for material and information. The result is a book that will give much nostalgic pleasure to all that know this town.
