Elstree is a small town about 1 mile west of Borehamwood. What puts Elstree on the map is its links to the British film industry. Some of the world's best known films and programs were made at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood including Star Wars and Saving Private Ryan. Although Elstree and Borehamwood are two separate towns, they are often thought of as one when thinking about the British film industry.
