Great Offley is an attractive village situated just off the A505 road that runs from Luton (5 miles) and Hitchin (3 miles). Little Offley is situated about 1.5 miles north of Great Offley.|
It is thought that Offa, King of Mercia, is buried here and gave his name to the village.
There are a number of pubs in the village, including The Red Lion and The Green Man. The village also has a popular restaurant - Offley Oriental - which attracts people from nearby towns and villages.
Near the centre of Great Offley is Offley Place, a 17th century country house set in 27 acres of grounds. Offley Place is used as a conference and meeting venue and is also popular for weddings.
