New Greens is a district of St Albans, situated approximately 1 mile north of the city centre. Between New Greens and the city centre is the district of Townsend.
New Greens is a modern residential estate, bordered by the Harpenden Road and Batchwood Drive. There is also a post office near the centre of New Greens. The nearest pub and restaurant is The Harvester (formerly The Ancient Briton), that stands on the crossroads of Harpenden Road, Batchwood Drive and Beech Road. Opposite the pub, a shop sells newspapers, food and other items.
There are a number of schools in the area including Townsend C of E School and also St Albans Girls School.
There is countryside north and west of New Greens. Batchwood Hall Golf Course is situated to the west of the area and this has public footpaths through it that residents enjoy walking.
