Stevenage Old Town was the original Stevenage. As the new town developed after World War II, the original village of Stevenage got consumed within the expansion. This village is now referred to as Stevenage Old Town and is situated about 0.5 miles from the centre of the new town.
The Old Town still has a village feel with historic buildings, coaching inns and pubs. The area becomes lively in the evenings and weekends and as well as pubs there is also a selection of restaurants.
You can learn more about the history of Stevenage by visiting Stevenage Museum which is situated near the centre of the new town.
