Tring is situated in the western-most corner of Hertfordshire, roughly halfway between Hemel Hempstead and Aylesbury (Buckinghamshire).

This small, attractive town is now largely residential and is situated amid the wooded Chiltern Hills on the Ridgeway. The Grand Union Canal runs near the northern edge of the town, while just south lies the 300 acre Tring Park.
