Whitwell is a small village situated about 4 miles west of Stevenage and 6 miles north-west of Welwyn Garden City.
Old cottages stretch along the High Street. Included in these properties are Whitwell's 2 pubs, The Maidens Head and The Bull. Opposite The Maidens Head is the large village store that stocks provisions and is also a post office.
On the edge of the village is Nine Wells Farm where Whitwell Watercress is grown. You can purchase fresh watercress at the farm shop.
Children will enjoy visiting Water Hall Farm where they can stroke and feed farm animals.
